Vision: I do like background character pairings, and this is one of the better ones that I've seen as of late, so that's a plus.
Originality: ... But that is also a minus for you. As much as I like these two and their conflicting ideas on music and all that, I understand when an idea has been run into the ground. It seems that everytime I see one, the other isn't far behind, and it has gone a bit stale for me. I'm not necessarily saying that it's a bad pairing and all that, but there are more background characters that they could be seen with.
Technique: Let me just say that this is a beautiful drawing, hooves down. The intertwining smoke trails, the music notation in the background, their conflicting facial expressions, it all comes together in a sumptuous fruit baske of a picture that entices the eye and the imagination. If I had to critique the technique (and I do)m I would say that Octavia's eye seems a little bit off. It just looks too narrow for me, and it kind throws off some of the immersion a bit.
Impact: Aft getting past the predictable duo, I was really struck dumb by how good the picture is as far as quality is concerned, so it sticks with me for that.
Overall: A very well drawn picture, but your talents could be better spent on something more original that Scratch/Octavia pairings. I'm not breaking bad on what I assume is your favorite pairing, but there are so many more realms that could be explored for these two as far as interactions with different characters are concerned. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see something great out do you later down the line.

Ok, like..FIRST? This drawing is absolouty amazing, I love the way you styled the manes correctly and shaded their positoons making the drawing pop out. i always love this dou, since im Vinyl herself, i do love octavia more than anything. The way you styled the background with glowing effect is perfect, everything about this drawing is perfect. But you should work on overlapping glowing stuff onto their skin. and making their tails a bit shorter. Thanks for drawing this! OH! and also i like how you made the eys look like they were real, and how you made the glasses on me shine. I LOVE this picture once again. And thank you!
